Antimony Ore – Sb Mineral

Product Description

Antimony Ore is the primary raw material for producing antimony trioxide (Sb₂O₃), metal alloys, flame retardants, batteries and a wide range of specialized industrial chemicals. Antimony ore is typically found in the form of stibnite (Sb₂S₃) and is supplied in different grades depending on Sb content.

Available Grades

  • Sb 20–40% – standard industrial grade
  • Sb 40–50% – mid-grade antimony ore
  • Sb 50–60% – high-grade stibnite

Industrial Uses and Applications

  • Flame retardants: production of antimony trioxide for plastics, textiles and construction.
  • Metallurgy: alloys for batteries, bearings, solders and high-resistance components.
  • Chemical industry: synthesis of antimony-based chemicals and catalysts.
  • Glass & ceramics: used as a clarifier and stabilizer.
  • Pyrotechnics: specialized uses in controlled explosive compounds.

Extraction and Processing

Antimony ore is extracted from sulfide metal deposits, then crushed, concentrated through flotation or gravity methods, dried and graded. Chemical analysis includes Sb, S, Fe, SiO₂ and moisture content.

Main origins include Pakistan, China, Bolivia, Russia, Tajikistan and Myanmar.
