Product Description
Chrome Ore is the essential raw material for producing ferrochrome, stainless steel and high-performance metal alloys. It typically appears in dark metallic black or brown tones and is supplied in lump or concentrated form. The value of chrome ore depends on its Cr₂O₃ content and the Cr/Fe ratio.
Available Grades
- Cr₂O₃ 30–35% – standard industrial grade
- Cr₂O₃ 36–38% – mid-grade
- Cr₂O₃ 40–42% – high-grade chrome ore
- Cr/Fe ratios upon request
Industrial Uses and Applications
- Ferrochrome production: key ingredient for stainless steel manufacturing.
- Metallurgy: alloying agent for high-strength and corrosion-resistant steels.
- Refractories: bricks and materials for steel, cement and glass furnaces.
- Chemical industry: chromium-based pigments and chemical compounds.
- Foundries: casting applications and special metal parts.
Extraction and Processing
Chrome ore is extracted from underground and open-pit mines, then crushed, washed, separated through gravity or spiral concentrators and size graded. Chemical analysis includes Cr₂O₃, Cr/Fe ratio, SiO₂, Fe₂O₃ and Al₂O₃.
Main origins include Pakistan, South Africa, Turkey, Oman, Kazakhstan and Albania.
