Product Description
Raw Magnesite (MgCO₃) is supplied in natural lump form and serves as the primary industrial feedstock for producing calcined magnesia, refractories, fertilizers, chemical compounds and specialized construction materials. The mineral occurs in white, cream or light grey tones depending on purity.
Available Grades
- MgO 42–44%
- MgO 44–46%
- MgO 46–48% (high grade)
- Low SiO₂ and Fe₂O₃ upon request
Industrial Uses and Applications
- Refractories: bricks and materials for steel, cement and lime furnaces.
- Chemical industry: production of magnesium oxide (MgO) and magnesium compounds.
- Agriculture: magnesium corrector for soil conditioning.
- Construction: insulating mortars and specialty cement products.
- Metallurgy: thermal processes and steel treatment.
Extraction and Processing
Raw magnesite is extracted from open-pit or underground mines, then washed, crushed and size-classified. Chemical analysis includes MgO, CaO, SiO₂, Fe₂O₃ and loss on ignition (LOI).
Major origins include Pakistan, China, Turkey, Greece, Brazil and Serbia.
