Product Overview
Magnesite powder is a highly valued industrial mineral thanks to its high content of magnesium carbonate (MgCO₃) and its excellent performance in refractories, chemical processes and agricultural applications. Our material comes from selected mines and is processed through crushing, fine grinding and classification to ensure a uniform particle size and stable product quality.
Material Description
Magnesite powder has a fine texture and a white to light cream color, with a composition rich in MgCO₃. Purity and mesh size can be adjusted according to the customer’s requirements, with different grades available and strict moisture control. It is a chemically stable, non-toxic mineral that delivers consistent performance in demanding industrial uses.
Main Industrial Applications
- Refractory industry: key raw material for refractory bricks, high-temperature linings and furnace linings used in steel, cement and heavy metallurgy.
- Chemical industry: used to produce magnesium oxide (MgO), fertilizers, chemical additives and other magnesium compounds.
- Construction: used in specialty cements, fire-resistant materials and thermal insulation products.
- Agriculture: improves soil quality by supplying magnesium and helping balance pH.
- Rubber and plastics: acts as an additive, mineral filler or stabilizing agent.
Production Process and Origin
Magnesite is first extracted as raw stone from open-pit or underground mines. After extraction, the mineral typically goes through:
- Primary crushing and fine grinding
- Classification by mesh size (e.g. 100 / 200 / 325 mesh or customized sizes)
- Optional washing and impurity removal
- Chemical and physical quality control
Main producing regions include China, Turkey, Pakistan, Brazil and several areas in Africa.
